Today there were several news release about the FDA talking about regulation restaurant portions.  Yahoo! has the story here.  Should they do this?  What are your thoughts?

  1. Man! I am sick of these fasicsts trying to run everyone’s lives. Isn’t that what they constantly accuse Conservatives of doing?

  2. Why should the FDA even be worring with this? Next thing they will be tring to do is control my portions at home. They have no right to be doing this. If this gets passed, I assume all of your all-you-can-eat buffets will be gone.

How can you deterimine a portion size for everyone? Is a 100 lb teenager going to get the same portion as a 250 lb grown man? Some people have high motabolisms and need to eat a lot more than others. (I have a friend who wieghs around 130 lb and can eat circles around me at 230 lbs. And he eats 3-5 meals a day where I only eat 2.)

On the other hand, I can somewhat see where they are coming from. People in America eat a lot of high fat and fried foods. People think that the only way that they can eat a potato is if it is fried. Don’t get me wrong, I love fried foods, but I can also cook a lot of foods that people eat by baking them and using a lot less fat.

  3. Your friend gets his exercise eating circles around you, he runs fast to keep you from taking his food.

  4. Actually, eating 3-5 meals a day is healthier than only 2.

  5. I know that eating 2-5 small meals is better than eating 2 large meals. I was just trying to make a point.
